Monster Hunt, Merch, March + Market and Mural!
Now that’s a tongue twister if we’ve ever heard one. But, we are so excited to have you marching with us this Monster Month. This year, there are three ways to support the campaign and get moving in our city: by participating in the Monster Hunt to win one year of free childcare, attending the 3k March and Monster Market and/or shopping our limited Monster Merch. By doing these, you will be supporting the Children’s Cottage and their new Child and Family Centre!
How to Register?
Visit the official Monster March Page to sign up and create a team. Your $25 registration fee is counted towards your fundraising total, and grants access to participants in the Monster Hunt, March + Market on Oct 29th!
Monster Hunt: Oct 1 - 27, 2022
For the month of October, register and explore the community of Currie in search of 15 Monsters for a chance to win 1-year of free childcare at any centre throughout the city and surrounding areas! Hiding throughout local businesses and amenities, snap a photo with all 15 monsters and submit your most monstrous pictures to our Monster March phone line at 403-714-0529. One entry per person. Each entry will grant participants into a draw. Three winners will be chosen, with one grand prize of a year-free childcare. Chosen winners will be announced at the Monster Market on October 29, 2022. Selected winners must be present to claim their prize. Register to participate! March + Market: Oct 29, Clear Water Academy, 11 am - 4 pm
Our second annual Monster Market will be taking place on October 20 from 11:30 - 4 pm at Clear Water Academy Harvey Hall. Families will join in on a 3 km march around the community of Currie from 11 - 12 pm, ending where the market festivities begin. Support local and give back to the Children’s Cottage to strengthen our community. We have a wide variety of talented local makers who are excited to be in the mix and participate in Monster Month. Lots of activities, entertainment and fun, are in store.

Katie took our Wee Wild Ones’ students’ drawings and brought this year’s monsters to life with her creativity and signature watercolour technique. Monster Mural
WilderFutures is partnering with award-winning local artist, Katie Green, to bring the characters of the Monster March to life! Inspired by children's monster submissions throughout YYC, Katie applied her signature watercolour style to create a Youth Legacy Mural set to unveil on Oct 29, on the facade of Wee Wild Ones' Currie location.
