A Wilder Recap of 2022

What an amazing 2022 season! Thank you to everyone who participated and made it what it was. As we continue to reflect on the good we did this past year, let us take a moment to highlight what was accomplished.

alliedFutures Project: Truth to Reconciliation
In the Fall of 2021, we partnered with Mount Royal University’s (MRU) Department of Child Studies program to aid their undergraduates in their final capstone projects. Through months of dedicated work, we developed the alliedFutures toolkit; an interactive digital toolkit that provides the user with resources and reflections throughout the 5-step journey: Sitting in Truth, Allyship, Accomplice, Decolonization and Indigenization, and Reconciliation.

Young Readers
We held three successful live reading events focusing on Indigenous History & Culture, Love, Identity & Pride, and Mindfulness, Empathy & Kindness. We connected with 30 organizations and donated over 50 books! We are honoured to be a part of bringing diverse, inclusive and thought-provoking stories into their libraries. We cannot wait for what next year has for our community and team.

Monster March + Market 2022
We held our 3rd annual Monster March and second annual Monster Market in October! Thank you to everyone who attended we loved seeing everyone in person and having the opportunity to connect in such an incredible way. You all worked SO hard to get us to our goal of $100,000, and we’re ecstatic to announce that we are almost there with a total of $95,129!

2022 Annual Calgary Pride Parade
At the heart of what we do, we continuously strive to increase our understanding of all communities, cultures and backgrounds to make our centres a collective of stronger, more compassionate and effective learners and leaders. In September, we marched, danced and wagged flags to support our fellow Calgarians in the Annual Pride Parade. We couldn’t be more proud of our youngest citizens and the world they are growing up in. They truly are creating a brighter future for all!

We are so grateful to our community members, partnerships and team members for making these events possible. We continue to challenge ourselves, our knowledge and our community to work towards a brighter future for all! Stay tuned for all the 2023 adventures! The best has yet to come!
