WFI Book Club
Dates: TBD
Location: Online
Tuition: TBD
Description: Bringing the outside in focuses on a Reggio Emilia approach to teaching and learning, with a focus on inquiry-based learning. We will explore our image of the child and how our environment impacts and influences their learning. We will take a closer look at loose parts and how these natural invitations for learning spark curiosity in the early years. Using nature as a venue for play and exploration allows for children's natural curiosity to drive the learning that takes place.
Recommended For: Formal and informal educators and professionals that are working with children as well as individuals passionate about nature and early-learning.

Monster March 2021
Monster March Event Details
The Monster March was started by Wee Wild Ones in 2017 to raise money for the Children’s Cottage Society. Previously held at St. Patrick’s Island, the Monster March began as a way for us to support children in need while encouraging families to spend more time together exploring our beautiful city.
In 2020, the Monster March became Monster Month! We reimagined our favourite fundraising day of the year as a month-long, city-wide campaign. With a month-long activity challenge, limited edition partnership collaborations, and a local business coupon book, we raised a grand total of $50,000 for the Children’s Cottage Society.
This year, the Children’s Cottage has embarked on an exciting new mission to build a new Child and Family Centre in the northwest Calgary community of Montgomery. The new centre will include a 20-bed crisis nursery, counselling services, a therapeutic child development program and other programs. This new child and family centre will help address emerging issues in small children before there are lifelong and life-altering impacts and will allow The Children’s Cottage to help an additional 8,850 children a year.
